This week, Year 4 have been painting and creating their own Minecraft cube as part of a competition created by the makers of the new film. Year 6 have started an artist’s study unit. Having looked at the work of David Hockney and Paula Rego, we explored the work of Fiona Rae creating our own abstract pieces of art.
Year 2 enhanced their classroom learning by taking part in African Workshops this week. The children thoroughly enjoyed making beads, printing, playing drums and dancing.

The children have enjoyed the September festivities. They have been singing Christmas music to get into the spirit of making snowman Christmas cards.
Making the most of the sunny week, we have undertaken one of our ’21 Things before we leave Hatch Ride’; making natural mandalas!
We were lucky to receive a grant from the Wellington College Arts Fund to pay for our KS2 recorder lessons this term! This allows 120 children to experience the joy of learning a musical instrument every week.
