We had a fantastic day that was jam-packed with activities. The children created cave paintings on textured paper to resemble bumpy cave walls and produced charcoal drawings on large sheets of paper, which were then used to create caves in the classroom. The children also built stone circles using wooden blocks and researched interesting facts about the Stone Age, which were added to a shared flipchart. In the afternoon, the hall was transformed as the children became hunter-gatherers, searching for prey and gathering safe plants and roots. We ended the day with a small campfire where the children roasted marshmallows. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, and the children made excellent Stone Age people!
