Year 4 have spent time this week investigating sound waves using water and tuning forks. They explored how to change the sound waves in size using different materials and different sized tuning forks.
Making the most of the sunny week, we have undertaken one of our ’21 Things before we leave Hatch Ride’; making natural mandalas!
We have leapt into our science topic of Electricity, making circuits and testing changes to circuits by increasing/decreasing the number of components. We have also explored making our own switches from paper/card, paper fasteners and paperclips.
We were lucky to receive a grant from the Wellington College Arts Fund to pay for our KS2 recorder lessons this term! This allows 120 children to experience the joy of learning a musical instrument every week.
Thank you to Mrs Esin and Miss Trentini for running our very well attended Lego club after school every week!
All the children contributed to our display for the Crowthorne Flower Festival. A special thank you goes to Mrs Mallett for putting it all together.
Last week, Year 4 enjoyed becoming chefs for the day and baking pizzas. Although it was messy, there were smiles all around as they rolled up their sleeves and worked in groups to make the dough and sauce from scratch. Read more
