Last week, Year 3 explored seasonal vegetables and designed a savoury pastry tart using vegetables that are currently in season as part of our DT topic. They spread tomato purée and sprinkled cheese (for those that liked it!) onto a pastry slice before adding their chosen vegetables. The wonderful ladies who prepare our school lunches kindly let us use the ovens in the kitchen pod to bake our tarts. Afterwards, we enjoyed tasting them in the classroom and evaluated what we liked about them. Many of the children were very brave and tried lots of new vegetables, which was fantastic to see! 🥕🍅
