Year 4 enjoyed taking book club outside this week and choosing their favourite books to explore. They created freeze frames in groups of particular chapters they enjoyed.

Over the last few weeks, Year 4 have been exploring different types of poetry. They have been developing their understanding of performing poetry and have been putting actions into their reading of them. They particularly enjoyed ‘The Slithermonchowchuck’.
Over the past 4 weeks, Year 4 have been learning about the importance of mindfulness moments within a day. They have been evaluating and designing their own timers for this using microbits. The children have enjoyed the September festivities. They have been singing Christmas music to get into the spirit of making snowman Christmas cards.
Year 4 have spent time this week investigating sound waves using water and tuning forks. They explored how to change the sound waves in size using different materials and different sized tuning forks.

Year 4 have been investigating morals from a variety of fables over this half term. They enjoyed having the opportunity to create freeze frames from their favourite stories and act out a range of fables in small groups. These included: The Hare and The Tortoise, The Mouse and The Lion Read more…
This week, Year 4 have been practicing using tints and shades to create a 3D pot. Their pots had to start in the shape of a number and then develop into their chosen shapes. Many of the children used the artist Magdalene Odundo for inspiration.
Year 4 have been collecting their recycling for a variety of Art and DT projects this half term. Last week, the children were creating sculptures of nature inspired by a variety of artists. They looked at many art pieces by El Anatsui and focused on using different methods to join Read more…
