We were lucky to receive a grant from the Wellington College Arts Fund to pay for our KS2 recorder lessons this term! This allows 120 children to experience the joy of learning a musical instrument every week.
All the children contributed to our display for the Crowthorne Flower Festival. A special thank you goes to Mrs Mallett for putting it all together.
This week, Year 4 have been practicing using tints and shades to create a 3D pot. Their pots had to start in the shape of a number and then develop into their chosen shapes. Many of the children used the artist Magdalene Odundo for inspiration.
We have been learning how to roll paper to make a sculpture. Today we created this ‘Tree of Life’. We all made a piece of bark for the tree trunk or branches then added leaves and many creatures that might live in it. We had lots of fun!
Year 4 have been collecting their recycling for a variety of Art and DT projects this half term. Last week, the children were creating sculptures of nature inspired by a variety of artists. They looked at many art pieces by El Anatsui and focused on using different methods to join Read more
Year 6 completed their Artists Study by creating a piece of art inspired by Frank Bowling, Paula Rego, David Hockney or Lubaina Himid. We were creating pieces that had a message or story behind them.
