We had a wonderful afternoon on Sunday as the choir joined several local schools and the East Berks youth orchestra for the Wokingham Mayor’s Carol Concert. The children sang beautifully and made us so proud, it was a truly festive celebration.
Yesterday our choir visited The Coats Centre to perform a selection of Christmas songs. We really enjoyed meeting everyone and had fun sharing our festive tunes.
We are proud to announce that we have received a Music Mark of Recognition from Berkshire Music Trust for our Dedication and Improvement to Music across the school 🎼🎹🎺🎵🎸
Year 6 performed their compositions this week to round off our music learning this half term. We have been listening to female composers and performers learning about how and why they compose music.
Year 2 enhanced their classroom learning by taking part in African Workshops this week. The children thoroughly enjoyed making beads, printing, playing drums and dancing.
We were lucky to receive a grant from the Wellington College Arts Fund to pay for our KS2 recorder lessons this term! This allows 120 children to experience the joy of learning a musical instrument every week.
